Do you have UFO's in your craft basket? In the 19th century, Patty did as well. She began stitching her sampler as a teenage girl living in Maine. She partially completed it, but vowed to finish it one day.  She fulfilled her promise to herself and managed to complete the sampler 40 years later in her fifties. There is hope!

Patty headed west to the Rocky Mountains where she worked as a pioneer midwife. She delivered more than 4000 babies on the frontier. She kept a journal of her adult life. (She mentions working on her sampler!)

We are extremely proud to offer the reproduction of the Caroline Turpin Sampler, which is currently on display at the Promont House Museum in Milford Ohio. The original sampler was stitched by Caroline in 1821 when she was only 11 years old. One year later, Caroline drowned while attempting to cross the Little Miami River in Ohio.  This sampler design has been carefully reproduced by Susan Bradford. Susan researched this sampler and your graph purchase will include a brief history of Caroline's ancestors and the sampler's history. Also included is a color photograph of the original sampler & color rendition of the reproduction pattern.
